Eagles Host US Soccer Player Identification Event

On Sunday, October 21 the Plantation Eagles hosted a US Soccer player identification event atPineIslandPark. David Rubinson, US Women’s Region III National Staff Coach was in attendance to watch the players train and scrimmage.
Invitations were extended to the local soccer clubs to send their top players in the U15 – U18 age groups to participate in the event. Approximately 50 players participated in the event, which went extremely well in spite of some difficult weather conditions.
David stated that this first identification opportunity for the girls was very successful. David commented, “My goal was to find a couple of players that had the potential to play at a higher level, but I was pleasantly surprised. There were a number of difference makers in both age groups. The coaches that are working with these players are asking the right questions of their players, as they had a good idea of how the game should be played.”
David has indicated a desire to make this an annual event.
